Early morning departure

Hot air ballooning depends on calm morning air, so the experience begins early, before the wind picks up and before the heat of the day sets in. Exact pickup timing is confirmed with you once your booking is arranged.

Into the Marrakech countryside

From the city, the journey leads out into the countryside near the Atlas Mountains, where launch conditions are more favorable than within Marrakech itself. This is also where the character of the experience changes — from the streets of the medina to open farmland, palm groves and quiet villages.

The balloon flight

Once airborne, the pace of the experience shifts. The balloon moves with the wind over the landscape below, offering a different view of the region than is possible from the ground: fields, tracks and settlements laid out below, and the Atlas range visible along the horizon on clear mornings.

Views toward the Atlas Mountains

Marrakech sits close to the Atlas Mountains, and much of the appeal of a balloon flight here comes from that proximity — the mountains form a backdrop to the flight that is not available from most other vantage points in the city.

Sunrise atmosphere

Early morning light gives the flight a particular atmosphere: softer colors over the countryside and, depending on conditions, the sun rising over the landscape during the flight itself.

The return journey
